Chapter
1 MEN HAVE FORGOTTEN GOD
"Let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers just men who will rule in the fear of God. . . if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted. . . If a republican government fails to secure public prosperity and happiness, it must be because the citizens neglect the Divine commands, and elect bad men to make and administer the laws." Noah Webster
GODLY PRINCIPLES
"Men have forgotten God," says Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn."The secret of healing our century's ills lies in the individual's daily choice of good over evil in the restoration of our lost religious faith." (1)
America's early schools openly taught the role that God and the Bible played in the founding of our nation. But today's textbooks deliberately censor God and the Faith of our founding fathers from all mention. A recent study of social studies textbooks show what has happened. In his informative book, Censorship: Evidence of Bias in our Children's Textbooks, Dr. Paul C. Vitz writes: "In the First part of the project a total of sixty representative social studies textbooks were carefully evaluated. None of the books covering grades 1 through 4 contains one word referring to any religious activity in contemporary American life. For example, no one word refers to any child or adult who prayed, or who went to church or temple. The same was true for the grades 5 and 6 texts, as well."
"In a very general way the family is often mentioned in the textbooks, but the idea that marriage is the origin and foundation of the family is never presented. Indeed, the words' marriage, wedding, a husband, a wife, does not occur once in these books."
"An example of religious bias is provided by a story of the Nobel laureate writer Isaac Singer. In his original story the main character, a boy, prayed ‘to God' and later remarked ‘Thank God.' In the story as presented in the sixth-grade reader the words ‘to God' were taken out and the expression ‘Thank God' was changed to ‘Thank goodness'." (2)
Noah Webster explained, "The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible."
Underlying the outward image of the United States of America as "the greatest nation on earth," a powerfully prosperous ‘Christian nation', lies a spiritual force of unbelievable satanic power and influence, Humanism has emerged through one of the most powerful principalities ever devised by Satan. In this book I will lift the superficial cover of the United States to reveal a world of dark powers and rulers teeming below the surface.
The Bible says Ephesians 6:11, "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Eph. 6:12, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Eph. 6:13 "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
The most profound truth that ultimately affects the life of every human being now on earth is: there is a spiritual war raging! The Kingdom of God Almighty and the Kingdom of Satan are battling for the ultimate control of every human life on this planet. While this spiritual war progressively rages, almost all the so-called spiritual shepherds, pastors, priests and prophets are proclaiming, "peace, peace, when there is no peace."
The United States has been slipping from its world renowned position as a "Christian nation" to one which increasingly condones, accepts, and even favors the philosophies of humanism. Nowhere is this trend more evident than in our educational system.
The New Age religion is the next transition stage. Satan has progressed with his plan to the point that we will not be able to put the true and living God back in the classroom or on the public throne. If we are successful in putting religion or prayer back into education, who will sit upon the throne? The angel of light, the real deceiver, Satan! "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light," (II Corinthians 11:14). For instance, for years there have been some drives to put prayer back into the public schools.
In his message at the NRB's 40th Annual Convention, President Ronald Reagan said: "I happen to believe that one way to promote, indeed to preserve, those traditional values we share are by permitting our children to begin their days the same way the Members of the United States Congress do--with prayer. The public expression of our faith in God through prayer is fundamental . . . as a part of our American heritage and a privilege which should not be excluded from our schools." (3) Reagan goes on to say, "No one must be forced or pressured to take part in any religious exercise. But neither should the freest country on earth ever have permitted God to be expelled from the classroom." (4)
However, which god will rule? For instance, when Jerry Brown was Governor of California, a Buddhist priest was selected to open the California Assembly in prayer. Many conservative Christians have joined the drive to put prayer back into the school and have been deceived into believing this will somehow put God back into the schoolroom. Consider the consequences of this action. What will come back into the system will not be the same Spirit that was taken out! If prayer in the classroom is ever again enacted, yielding to multi cultural powers, the government would be forced to accept all religious beliefs as equally acceptable. A Buddhist teacher would be allowed to pray with the class showing the same reverence as if the prayer was addressed to God through the name of Jesus. A Christian child would be expected to participate with the class showing the same reverence to a false god. Class members who view all religions as equally acceptable will be accepted as having the right attitude. Christian students would be called narrow-minded and dogmatic and would be persecuted.
President Reagan promoted legislation regarding school prayer and termed public expressions of faith in God, "a fundamental part of our American heritage and a privilege which should not be excluded from our schools."(5) His constitutional amendment in favor of voluntary school prayer fell victim to liberal-led filibusters and has met with divided opinions even among conservative Christians.
If you examine the textbooks in most any school system today, you will discover that all religions of the world, including witchcraft are already represented in the textbooks. You will find that Christianity alone is not presented and on some occasions Jesus Christ's deity is shown as nothing more than a myth.
The majority of people in our nation do not even profess to be following the Word of God. Of those who profess Christianity, even a smaller percentage actually live up to what they claim to believe. The only hope for our nation to sidetrack Satan's plan for a world religion would be if the people would fall on their knees before God, confess their wicked ways, plead for forgiveness, and pray for God to give revival.
Satan's prime target for the destruction of this nation is the family unit. His strategy of attack is aimed at the American home -- the very heart of this nation. God-ordained families built around the institution of marriage are the foundation, support and main strength in this nation. It has been historically accepted that "the greatest institution in America is marriage". . . is it rapidly becoming divorce? In truth the United States is a battleground littered with broken homes. As the smoke settles from domestic battles, what remains are displaced children and emotional casualties who are staggering in confusion and frustration. Cries arise from all over the nation -- What happened? Faithful husbands and fathers, submissive wives and godly and obedient children are the fruits of Christ-centered homes that are established in God's perfect order.
Three basic building blocks form the foundation of a successful Christian family: commitment to a God centered life; a stable and fulfilling Christian marriage; and strong spiritual leadership. Deuteronomy and Proverbs provide some basic rules that we should follow: Love God, (Deuteronomy 6:5); fear Him in reverence (Deut.10: 12); walk in His ways as an example to others, (vs. 12); know Him and apply His Word, (V. 13); teach His Word to your children, (Deuteronomy 6:7; 11:19); discipline your children, (Prov. 19:18); avoid provoking your children to anger, (Ephesians 6:4).
As I type this book, a great controversy swirls around President Clinton's adulterous affairs while serving as governor of Arkansas and president of the United States. During the campaign, the media convinced the American voters that character did not count. They were told that family values were not important. The voter was convinced that the only thing that mattered was the economy, that is, their pocketbooks. "It's the economy stupid," was a slogan coined to keep him centered on what the voters wanted to hear. We are paying a horrendous price for the deception and seduction. President Clinton was impeached in 1998. "Uprightness and right standing with God, (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) these elevate a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people," (Proverbs 13:34).
President Clinton's Goals 2000 Education Bill is one I oppose because it allows the federal government to usurp local control of education. (President Clinton signed this bill into law March 1994). Goals' 2000 will lead toward a national school board and a national curriculum which is a radical new role in education. These social engineers in Washington, D.C. have finally gotten their socialistic hands on our children. (6) When political power is removed from the local establishments, your voice is obliterated. The issues that concern your child are surrendered to the federal government.
This is a victory for the establishment and is a power grab away from parents and states this giving that power to the Federal Government. We can see a drastic change in who's in charge of the children, parents or the state. Samuel Blumfield said on "Point of View," a radio program in February 10, 1994": It's the New World Government Plan, coming down from the top of the system to prepare the children for the New World Order. Values must be changed, which means the masses will be controlled by the elite." (7)
For many years, pro-family groups across the country have been fighting "Values Clarification" psychological testing conducted without parental knowledge or approval, agenda programs in the public schools, including the newest one, Outcome-Based Education (OBE). OBE shifts the emphasis from academics to the attitudes and beliefs of the children. OBE is not a specific curriculum, but rather an educational philosophy that strikes at the root of our families. It threatens to undermine the values you have worked so hard to instill in your children. It is an intrusion into your family's privacy. OBE instills a "dumbing down" in our children. This "dumbing down" is meant to create a work force to compete with the world. It will cripple our young for the rest of their lives. They will be controlled by the leaders of the New World Order. It creates a permanent underclass. OBE is more interested in social values than intellectual learning. (8)
Education is in crisis because the thirty years of humanism are now rapidly producing its evil fruit between our youth and leadership of America. The problems that our country faces are coming from our elected officials from the top to the grass roots, therefore, we need more involvement of Christians in government. America's restoration depends on strong, trustworthy, and moral leadership. (9)
Most can recall being taught the basics: reading, writing, spelling, history, science, geography, English, and math, but not a specific subject on New Age. The reason is that New Age is not taught as a subject. It's being integrated into the curriculum through textbooks, short stories, games, supplemental materials, and guided activity. New Age can be presented through concepts, ideas, and teaching strategies. The specific content isn't planned; it evolves through these channels.
Through various teaching activities, children can learn spells, chants, practice magic, and role play as supernatural characters. In health, family living, or social studies class, they can come to deny the values you taught them and learn to form their own values based on their needs, desires, and circumstances. If they are assigned a book report for a class project, they can read a book on Buddhism, Indian religions, or Greek mythology, but not Christianity.
The McGuffey Readers, which taught millions of children to read, have been replaced with textbooks that instill fear, violence, and New Age themes, from channeling to crystals to positive imaging. New Age concepts have replaced the Christian values that were once openly taught in textbooks and other school materials.(10)
Josh McDowel, author and speaker says. "Once upon a time, children were raised in an atmosphere that communicated absolute standards for behavior. Certain things were right and certain things were wrong. A child's parents, teachers, ministers, youth workers, and other adults collaborated in an effort to communicate that the former should be heeded and the latter should be avoided. At one time, our society, by and large, explained the universe, humanity, and the purpose of life from the Judeo-Christian tradition, a belief that Truth existed, and everyone could know and understand it." (11) McDowel continued: "A clear understanding of what was right and wrong gave society a standard by which to measure crime and punishment, business ethics, community values, character and social conduct. It became the lens through which society viewed law, science, art, politics-- the whole culture." (12)
Our children are being raised in a society that has truly rejected the notions of truth and morality. The hardest thing that I've experienced as a Bible teacher in our church, is getting the young people to have a biblical point of view concerning sin. One young man I'll call John, (not his real name), continued to be in a state of depression for a long period of time. He was suicidal and filled with doubt. Eventually, he opened up and told me that he was going out on the streets, looking for prostitutes. "I have to do this," he said, "because I don't have a wife." This author has had to talk John down from taking his life.
Another young man, "Ken," came to our church. He told me that he had to serve six months in jail. Why? He was having sex with his girl friend. "I'm a Baptist," he said. "I knew it was wrong because my pastor told me as did my Christian parents. However, my school teachers said it was fine as long as we used condoms."
Ken continued his story: "We had sex for two years. I graduated from high school. We continued to have sex. Then on my 18th birthday, her father sent a policeman to arrest me. I was facing 15 years for statutory rape!"
THE NATION DROPS INTO TOTAL DARKNESS
The nation may have been shocked when the television program 20/20 recently reported on "Death Education." Among other things, the program showed high school students being taken to morgues to touch dead bodies. (13)
Was this just some kooky teacher's idea? Not at all, this is a part of a whole nationwide movement. Your local high school may have it, even if the parents don't know about it. The fact is, this is just one of many emotional manipulations of children that goes on in public schools across the country behind the backs of parents.
The effects that television and movies have on the minds of individuals are tremendous. Today's child spends more than 18,000 hours in front of television before the age of eighteen. He witnesses thousands upon thousands of crimes -- murders, rapes, robberies and countless other acts of sex and violence. The act of killing is glorified, and rarely is there ever justice and punishment executed. In our schools and colleges we do not teach Christian ethics (the commandments of God or morality in our schools, in fact God, is scorned and mocked). (14)
In ancient Babylon and other civilizations, the evil practices of idolatry and pagan worship were physical and openly visible. In highly "civilized" modern America the sins of the nation take on a more subtle, sophisticated, and acceptable appearance. In ancient Babylon, greed and selfish ambition led Cush and Nimrod to attempt to build a physical tower to reach heaven. In today's America, individuals build their invisible "Towers of Babel" through globalism, politics, business, entertainment, New Age religion, education, sports, science, medicine, crime, sexual conquests and so forth.
Idolatry in Old Babylon was the open worship of gods and goddesses: in reality, it was the worship of demons. Sexual perversions were brought into pagan worship with such practices as temple prostitutes.
People depended on these spirit-beings (demons) to supply them with power, wisdom and resources. To gain favor with the gods, worship was accompanied by offerings and sacrifices. The sacrifices today are our children.
The Scripture tells us, "Blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in My holy mountain: Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand," (Joel 2:11). "O Zion, Holy People of God, awake to the sound of the trumpet, for the day of the Lord is near."
We are living in treacherous times as never before witnessed. There is absolutely a war going on in the United States! It is a battle for the minds of the people to change their spiritual concepts. With the principles of humanism, as outlined in the second Humanist Manifesto applied in public education every course in the curriculum can serve as a vehicle to promote these godless beliefs. . . Math, languages, social studies, sex education, history, environmental education, home economics. . . Every course!
Sadly, even some Christian schools have joined the Humanists battle plans by allowing their curriculums to integrate into their systems.
The son of America's most outspoken atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair's, William Murray, tells a shocking story in his eye-opening autobiography, My Life Without God.
Murray, was the 14-year-old plaintiff of record in the 1963 Supreme Court decision which banned prayer from public schools. It describes his childhood years as a seed bed of violence, vindictiveness, and illusions of grandeur.
His book tells of his mother's political involvement with the Socialist Workers Party, the Socialist Labor Party, and the Communist Party in the United States and details her unsuccessful attempt to defect with her two sons to the Soviet Union. Emotional instability, smuggling drugs, left-wing causes, and antireligious lawsuits marked Murray's life before his conversion to Jesus Christ at age 33. (15)
Psychology for Living says, ". . . any who think that their Christian faith is depriving them of happiness and freedom should read this book." (16)
After his conversion to Christ, Murray writes: " Now I looked back at the devastation. My family, and particularly my mother and myself, had left a path of ruin behind us, ruined ideals, ruined lives. We had marched over both in a quest of a victory that could not be won. The only thing in my mind that was left undone was to apologize. I wanted to apologize to Susan and Robin, to Valerie and Jade. I wanted to apologize to my country for robbing a part of its heritage of righteousness by participating in the prayer and Bible reading case." (17)
No nation which denies God has, or ever will, endure and so if America falls, we can anticipate far reaching global repercussions, not only economically and politically, but more so spiritually. In a world of spiritual darkness, man will attempt to guide himself by the satanic constellations of secular humanism, New Age religions, atheism, eastern mysticism, and occultism, America stands as the last bastion of true Biblical Christianity, a spiritual lighthouse in a global storm of confusion.
There is an answer, however, for the world, both individually and collectively, which is a spiritual rebirth through the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. (18)
In his book Baptism and Fullness, John R. W. Scott writes": The concept of Christendom which has lasted for centuries seems to be rapidly dying, as more and more people repudiate the faith of their fathers. In the sixties, attempting to reinterpret the gospel to the modern age, secular theologians openly denied the fundamentals of historic Christianity. Having largely lost the Christian faith, the western world has lost the Christian ethic also. Society is now confessedly pluralistic and permissive. The institute of the church survives, but is regarded by most people as a relic from the past, an outmoded structure like the superstition to which it clings. " (19)
John the Apostle warns Christians to be sure to use spiritual discernment to"test every spirit to see whether or not it is from God," (I John 4:1-3.) Spiritual discernment is needed in these last days. The Prophet Daniel said, "The wise shall know when these things would occur." Truly, God's people are to know the signs of the times, but, why have Christians so often been so blind to the meaning of the great events happening in our time? Is it because we have not bothered relating the Word of God to those affairs of life which lie beyond our personal interests, our families, and our immediate circle of Christian friends? Real Christian discernment is almost nonexistent concerning the great spiritual warfare transpiring in the world today.
Two thousand years ago the Apostle Paul was greatly concerned about Christian discernment, he wrote: "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God," (Romans 6:20.)
Paul shows in these scriptures the need for the saints to have the quickness to sense the true spiritual situation which exists. In these latter days, it is imperative that we have the ability to make wise choices between the correct Biblical alternatives.
Christian discernment means the ability to "approve the things that are excellent," or, more literally, to "distinguish between the things that differs." There are many voices crying, "Follow me, I have the way to truth." Among these voices are the true ministers of God who have been anointed by the Holy Spirit to lead His people into all truth. There are many false prophets whose main desire is to gather a following to lead them into the "big lie." Yes, it is very important for every Christian to be able to distinguish between the things that differ.
We must become educated in the true spiritual history of our nation, we must pray and take the time to investigate and examine our great Christian heritage before the freedom is gone, we must pass that rich heritage onto our children so that his once great and Godfearing nation would return to her roots so that we can enjoy our freedoms once again.
How has it happened that the greatest country in the history of the world is teetering on the brink of total collapse and destruction?
"Therefore my people have gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge; their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst," (Isaiah 5:13).
Lindsey Williams writes in his book To Seduce a Nation, "I came to the shocking reality that we can't follow something that we don't know. How can Americans practice the Constitution if the schools do not teach it to our children? How can we be obedient to the Bible in Romans 13 if we have never read and studied the Constitution? The answer is according to the prophet Hosea, we can't. We perish because of a lack of knowledge."(20)
In Deuteronomy Chapters 1 through 4, Moses recounts God's hand in the history of Israel. Joshua does the same in Joshua Chapters 23 and 24. In Acts 7 & 13 Stephen and Paul, respectively, examine the history of the nation of Israel.
John Frattarola writes": History is important to God because without it His people forget Who God is. God doesn't want us to dwell in the past yearning for long gone days of glory. He does, however, encourage us to remember from where we've come so that when times looks bleak we will remember who has sustained us. And when times of great blessing come, we will not forget Who has brought the blessing," (Psalm 44:3-8).
"Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you," (Deuteronomy 32:7). There aren't many left in our country who accurately remember "the days of old." (21) The old days aren't taught any longer in the public schools, or if they are, all the religious and moral aspects of the people and events have been removed. History and all other subjects are now taught with a global perspective, usually resulting in a negative outlook on the great achievements of the United States. We certainly won't learn of the tremendous part God played in the founding of our nation and government in public school textbooks or from most public educators. Hence, generation after generation grows up with little, incorrect, or no understanding of love of God, country, or family. (22)
Public school textbooks are fertile ground for the seeds of willful historical deception. Paul E. Vitz, professor of psychology at New York University, spent months of careful analysis of 60 textbooks used in elementary schools across the country. The study was sponsored by the Department of Education. The texts were examined in terms of their reference to religion, either directly or indirectly. "In grades 1 through 4, these books introduce the child to U.S. society -- to family life, community activities, ordinary economic transactions, and some history. None of the books covering grades 1 through 4 contain one word referring to any religious activity in contemporary American life. (23) Dr. Vitz offers an example of how this translates into the real world of classroom instruction: "Some particular examples of bias against religion are significant. One social study's book has thirty pages on the Pilgrims, including the first Thanksgiving. But there is not one word (or an image) that referred to religion as even a part of the Pilgrims' life. One mother whose son is in a class using this book wrote me to say that he came home and told her that "Thanksgiving was when the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians." The mother called the principal of this suburban New York City school to point out that Thanksgiving was when the Pilgrims thanked God; The principal responded by saying ‘that was her opinion'. The schools could only teach what was in the books." (24)
Dr. Vitz is not the only person to uncover the way public school texts minimize the role that Christianity played in the founding of our nation. Consider how a teacher's guide for the high school history text, Triumph of the American Nation, published in 1986, omits material from the Mayflower Compact without informing the teacher that the document has been edited. Students, in discussing the document, are left with an incomplete understanding of what motivated these early founders because they do not have the facts. The Mayflower Compact is depicted solely as a political document with its more striking religious elements censored out. Here is the document as presented by the textbook company. The underlined portions are missing from the textbook version: In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our-dread sovereign lord, King James, by the grace of God of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, etc., having undertaken for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith and honor of our king and country a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, does by these presents solemnly and in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic . . . " (25)
These brave men and women had more on their minds than political freedom. Missionary zeal and the advance of the Christian faith were their primary motivations as they risked life and property to carve a new home out of an uncertain wilderness.
Christians are being treated as second class citizens by movies, television and other media's because of their noticeably passive attitudes concerning the Antichrist trends in the public arena. While deceptions abound in every area of life, Christians, mainly seem concerned only with the issues that involve self or immediate family problems. Deception is as old as Satan and the Garden of Eden. But it is effectiveness as a tool for the manipulation of the minds of men has increased tremendously in our time because of a sleeping church.
The religion of Humanism has permeated all aspects of society. The greatest danger is that the average person does not know what humanism is and therefore is unable to recognize its many forms. The Humanist Manifesto, 1 says:
* EVOLUTION - "Humanism believes that man is a part of nature and that he has emerged as the result of a continuous process."
* ANTI GOD - "As nontheists, we begin with humans, not God; nature, not a deity."
* ANTICHRIST - "No deity will save us; we must save ourselves."
* SITUATION ETHICS & VALUES CLARIFICATION - "We affirm that moral values derive their source from human experience. Ethics is autonomous and situational, needing no theological or ideological sanction."
* INCEST - "While we do not approve of exploitive denigrating forms of sexual expression, neither do we wish to prohibit, by law nor social sanction, sexual behavior between consenting adults."
* SUICIDE & EUTHANASIA - "It also includes a recognition of an individual's right to die with dignity, euthanasia, and the right to suicide."
* SOCIALISM - "Hence extreme disproportions in wealth, income, and economic growth should be reduced on a worldwide basis."
* ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT - "Thus we look to the development of a system of world law and a world order based upon transnational federal government."
* ERADICATION OF THOSE WHO OPPOSE HUMANISM - "The conditions of work, education, devotion, and play should be humanized. Alienating forces should be modified or eradicated..." (26)
To quote Bertram F. Collin, "To gain an insight into what Humanism is, first understand that it the antithesis of Christianity and Judaism. It's anti-God and when it preaches "there will be no uniquely religious emotion and attitudes of the kind hitherto associated with belief in the supernatural." (27)
The politicians have been moving America away from its Judeo-Christian roots as well as its republic. They are winning a silent-secret revolution to bring our country into a new world democracy. In the Communist Manifesto Karl Marx stated, "The first step in the revolution is to win the battle for democracy." This may surprise you because you probably thought America is a democracy.
No, our forefathers did not establish a democracy. They established a republic. "Democracy" comes from two Greek words: "demos" -- people" and "Kratin" -- "to rule," i.e., the people rule."
There is nothing of survival inherent in a republic. Its longevity depends upon the Faith, the spirit, and the genius of the people within.
James Madison, one of the framers of the Constitution, explained the nature of the American republic in these words: "We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." (28)
What if, the Faith is weakened? What if, the spirit of the people fails? What if, the flesh grows weak? When that occurs the republic goes unattended. The checks and balances between the executive, the legislative, the judicial and the individual are circumvented. The fences between the federal, state and local governments are torn down. The system is then altered and subverted.
It would not be accurate to say the republic is dead. But, it would not be far off the mark to say that its workings have been shelved. The form remains. It is acknowledged on those national holidays and in those patriotic speeches. Then it is put back, under the glass along with the other relics. (29)
The fact is this: This nation is now more of a democracy than it is a republic. And to those who will see behind the slogans and hear beyond the chants, another truth is clear: With the passing of the republic also passes the power of the people.
You probably have always thought that in a democracy the power is the people. Wrong, because the power that prevails is the militant, the vocal, organized minority and, an occasional restive, fleeting majority.
There is the difference between the republic and a democracy. In a republic, the majority will represent the individual and protect the minority, because the checks and balances work. The fences are up, representation is observed. In a democracy, the majority can represent the group, the mob, the militant, the demagogue. The checks and balances are waived. The fences are down. Sound and fury can carry the day.
It was that vital difference that prompted the framers of our Constitution to give us the Great American Republic."To put the matter bluntly, there is under way in the United States at the present time a definite and determined movement to change our representative republic into a socialistic democracy. It presents itself in many persuasive and seductive forms. It uses attractive formulas to which men like to give adhesion; but if it's successful, it will bring an end to the form of government that was founded when our Constitution was made . . . " .(30) Those are the words of Dr. Nicholas Murray Butler, the president of Columbia University during the 1930s and 40s, He wrote them in his book, Why Should We Change Our Form of Government? Fifty years ago he wrote them.
Meantime, we now have both political parties referring to America as a democracy and hardly anyone notices that we have changed our political roots. American taxpayers are paying to change every country in the world to a democracy without money and the blood our young. The Clintons say they were elected because the people ‘wanted change'. However, in the 92 and 94 elections the people voted a reaffirmation of the American republic. We yearned to return to our roots, while after the elections, the politicians continued down their pathway of world democracy, the people are ignored until the next election. . . . Promises, promises.
Dr. C. M. Pierce, Harvard University, said in a speech to teachers: "Every child in America entering school at the age of five is INSANE because he comes to school with certain allegiances toward our founding fathers, toward our selected officials, toward his parents, toward a belief in a supernatural being, toward the sovereignty of this nation as a separate entity. It's up to you as teachers to make all of these SICK children well, by creating the international children of the future." (31)
The plan becomes clearer when you read what Paul Blanchard, noted Humanist author and educator, said: "How does it get into the schools? First, on one pretense deception or another, your movement must get the other guys' doctrines out of the public school classrooms. So finally, the Holy Bible is outlawed and in the void left behind, you substitute "Values Clarification," fathered by another of your leaders, Sidney Simon." (32)
Mr. Blanchard goes on to say, "You are able to also get ‘Behavior Modification' by another Humanist ‘saint,' B. F. Skinner, accepted. Little by little, with your powerful instrument known as the NEA (National Education Association), you put these anti-God, antifamily, and anti nation course, exercises, and materials for indoctrination in virtually every public school classroom, grades Kindergarten through twelve, across the nation. During these years of hard work, you enlist the assistance of fellow Humanists who have gained control of the media." (33)
Note that the Lichter Rothman study of TV's elite programmers shows they are out to change society, not just entertain the viewer. Just 700 people control entertaining the viewer. The Lichter Rotherman interview of TV elite indicates 86% never/seldom goes to church or a synagogue; 84% say government should have no laws regarding sex; 55% say adultery isn't immoral; and 95% say it isn't wrong. Is it any wonder that TV bends the mind of the viewer to the Humanist view? This is not by accident. It is by design. (34)
Humanist sermons in the classroom come under many headings, since virtually any subject can be used as a springboard for anti God, anti morals absolute, anti family, and anti nation indoctrination. Under the deceptive guise of increasing "critical thinking skills," minor children are compelled to participate in classroom discussions in which the "anti" concepts are clearly gotten across. Dr. Sidney Simon, author of Values Clarification said": I always bootlegged the values stuff under other titles. I was assigned to teach Social Studies in the elementary school, and I taught values clarification." (35)
For elementary school grades, Dr. Simon's book includes stories through which children learn that God is a myth, like sky-man, big-bear, and they are encouraged to make up a story in which they can be God. Multiple choice questions become the favorite brainwashing technique in later grades because all possible choices based on traditional values or moral absolutes are never included. Under the guise of ‘Death Education,' (which the clever Humanist educrats have convinced school boards and administrators are beneficial to children), children are asked to choose the manner in which they would prefer to commit suicide, and discuss their choice; to write their own epitaph; to write a suicide note, to choose ways of dying among multiple choices that include euthanasia, etc. (36)
In science class, the ‘Lifeboat' or ‘Bomb Shelter' exercise is used, in which the student selects certain people in the boat or shelter to be killed. By cleverly worded descriptions of the people from whom the selection must be made, the student is ‘lead' to select the minister, priest or rabbi, and the pregnant woman, and certain others that represent some aspect of traditional values. (37)
Through these and various other classroom exercises, the religious belief that God gives life and only He can take it away is replaced with the Humanist doctrine that man is supreme and can make all decisions according to his own feelings and desires and answers only to the authority (by arbitrary power) of other men. Since there is no law of God in Humanism, each child is led to believe that he can and should choose for himself what he will do based on his own free will, experience, feelings and desires. This doctrine is instilled in children in the classroom by cleverly designing exercises and discussions that begin and close without conclusion as to what is right, wrong, moral or immoral. (38)
A German writer wrote: "The people can be made to see Heaven as Hell, or the most wretched life as paradise, by the skillful and sustained use of propaganda. "
For example, in 1978, The American Humanist Magazine sent 2000 selected Radio Stations the following Public Service Announcements, taped recordings by show business personalities' Steve Allen and Dana Andrews. These have been aired free of charge, of course, by many stations: "Hello. This is Steve Allan. I'd like to tell you about a group of people I met recently who would like to tell you more about themselves. They're called Humanists and they believe we can build a better world with peace and happiness by encouraging people to have faith in one another. How's that for an idea whose time has come? You might drop them a card. They'll send information. Then you can make up your own mind. Write . . . " (Steve Allen is presently promoting his Catholic view of God on religious talk shows. After cancer, perhaps he has had a re-conversion to his faith.)
"Hello. I'm Dana Andrews. I'd like to tell you about my personal philosophy. I'm a Humanist. A Humanist believes that men and women of good will can work together to make this life better for everyone the world over. Humanism, in other words, is faith in humanity. Why not write my friends at the American Humanist Association . . ." (39)
What can you do?
Each local station makes its own policy on Public Service Announcements. You can go to your local station and request equal time for religious announcements, since the Supreme Court has ruled that Humanism is a religion. The Humanists are making plans to use this strategy, according to one of their newsletters. ". . . Humanists are developing an active alertness to insist on ‘equal time' for Humanism on area radio-TV stations particularly those devoted to propagandizing for evangelical religious fundamentalism. It is an alertness that Humanists throughout the Southwest many want to develop in their areas." (40)
Many people who are mind molders, manipulate and war to control the minds of the masses. The propaganda of mind pollution is winning because only a few are willing to pay the price of self sacrifice; to put their finger in the holes of a fast leaking dam of destruction.
How have the Humanists been able to gain control of the education system? They have been successful by educating the educators. Students who themselves later will be the teachers are thoroughly indoctrinated in Evolutionary Humanism. Also, they control the textbooks that are used in the primary schools through the universities. Alexander J. Bourke, Jr. states, ". . . textbooks both mirror and create our values. " (41)
The Bible warns in II Timothy 4: 2-4: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and they shall be turned unto fables."
In her paper, "The Religion of Humanism in Public Schools, " Barbara Morris writes: "I often think about the religion of Humanism being promoted in public schools and without fail, I find myself asking, where, oh where are the Christians? Why do those who claim to be true followers of Christ permits this hoax to go unchallenged? Every Christian and every Christian Church should be actively exposing and working to remove this Godless religion from our public schools. One woman's efforts resulted in a ban on prayer and Bible reading. How is it that the people of a nation that claims to be predominantly Christian cannot rout the religion of Humanism from their schools?" (42)
HUMANISTS FEAR CHRISTIAN ACTION
Activists and radicals did not bring us to replacing Christian principles in our nation. We were defeated by inactive Christians! We do have power! We can make a difference! We must recognize our potential and act like a majority. As Edward Burke explained: "All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."(43)
Many Humanists have been working hard for years to replace Christian ideas in every public place. They have been very successful. Free Inquiry Magazine recently called its readers to enlist in its war for defense of secular humanism.
"There's a war going on," an ad for this Humanist magazine stated, "right-wing fundamentalists and conservatives are now on the offensive. According to Free Inquiry Magazine, they (the Fundamentalists) have targeted public schools, the courts, the media and other institutions that they believe are permeated with the influence of secular humanism." (44)
The magazine ad goes on to cite Tim LaHaye, founder of The Creationist Institute, as an arch foe of secular humanism. "LaHaye has characterized the current campaign as "a battle for the mind." Free Inquiry also has targeted the Moral Majority, as another "anti-humanist force."
They give a challenge to their readers: "If you're a freethinker... often skeptical of religious dogmas and political ideologies, you'll probably find Free Inquiry to your liking and your way of thinking." They also promise their readers they will: "Echo your doubts, pose your questions, stimulate your thinking and action on a wide range of vital subjects." (45)
The Humanists rightly fear Christians awakening to prayer and secular action. The recent victory concerning the Humanist's textbooks being taught in Alabama sent shivers up every Humanist's spine of the significance of Christian action. When they lost their textbook case in Mobile Alabama, the Humanists knew a sleeping giant had suddenly made a move that was heard across the country.
U. S. District Judge W. Brevard Hand's ruling, March 5, 1987, which will ban more than 40 textbooks from Alabama's public schools is a major victory for conservative Christians it stated in part: (46)
* The decision is expected to have nationwide impact. The judge ruled that the textbooks in question neglected the role of traditional religion in the nation's history and culture.
* Humanism is essentially a religion, centered on man and his values instead of God's. * And its tenets are being unconstitutionally advanced in the public schools.
* More than 600 parents, teachers, ministers and others backed by the National Legal Foundation, a group founded by TV Evangelist Pat Robertson joined as plaintiffs in the case.
The opposition consisted of Norman Lear's, "The American Way." William A. Bradford, defending the textbooks, said the ruling gave the plaintiffs "everything they wanted."
The Judge's 172 page decision found many textbooks systematically omitted the "religious aspects to significant American events," from the Puritans to the civil rights movement.
The decision also found that History books discriminate against the very concept of religion and theistic religions in particular, by omissions so serious that a student learning history from them would not be apprized of relevant facts about America's history.
The Christian parents were jubilant. "That's exactly what we were asking for," said Barber Sherling, one of the lawyers. "We are overjoyed." The parents asserted the reading textbooks used in their children's classes violated their beliefs.
The judge ordered the schools to excuse their children during reading classes and allow them to be taught at home.
In a home economics book, Teen Guide, objectionable parts read: "Nothing was ‘meant to be'. .. And... "When you recognize that you are the one in charge of your life, you will be way ahead of where you would if you think of your life as something that just happens to you." (47)
This case truly shows what can happen when Christians stop fighting each other and join in unity to defeat the cause of the enemy. God blesses those who were willing to spend their time, money, and even their "acceptable social reputations" to stand against the wiles of the devil!
Mark Horne writes, "One prominent Christian leader recently discussed the fact that Eastern religions were being taught in the class of a 5-year-old girl in the guise of promoting self-esteem. His response was standard fare among evangelicals: The parents must teach the 5-year-old to discern between true and false religion that is being taught to her by an adult authority figure five days a week."
Mr. Horne believes that if President Clinton wished to wipe out the next generation of Christians, the best thing he could do is order the schools to begin each day with a public, corporate, and of non-sectarian prayer. He cites the fact that already-struggling Christian private schools would completely collapse as parents sent their children back to the maternal bureaucracy that wishes to raise them.
Mr. Horne goes on to say, "Jesus warns us that whoever causes a child to stumble would be better off drowned. When parents send their little ones to be indoctrinated by apostates, one wonders if they take Jesus seriously. By removing prayer from public schools, the Supreme Court inadvertently gave the remnants of Christendom a warning about the nature of American public education. Like the persecution of the Jerusalem Christians, it is possible that God was acting through the Supreme Court to preserve the Church in America." (48)
